Sales tips for teens and parents: sell without nagging
Get a ready-made message to send, pick the right channel and avoid the most common mistakes. How to sell for the team without pressure or awkward pitches.

Sell with purpose, not guilt
The strongest argument is the team's goal. “We're raising for the tournament trip” or “We want to lower the training fee” is clearer than “Buy from me”. When the recipient understands why, it is easier to say yes — or no without a bad conscience.
Roots is premium care, not a begging round. You offer a product many people already need, and part of the purchase goes to the club.
One sentence that works
Keep it short: who you are, what the team is raising for, what the product is, and the link. Example: “Hi! I'm selling Roots hair care for the team's tournament trip — low-sulphate shampoo and conditioner. Here's my shop if you want to take a look.”
You can add that current prices appear in the shop and on the product pages. That saves questions.
Choose the right channel
Parents: class parent group, work, neighbours. Young people: Stories, group chat, QR in the clubhouse. Avoid posting the same text in ten threads the same evening — it backfires.
Personal shop and QR are explained in Personal shop.
Common mistakes
Promising medical effects. Roots is cosmetic hair and body care — talk about feel, scent, routine and formula, not about “curing” anything.
Being embarrassed about the price. Premium is part of the offer. If someone points at the price: refer to the contents, to SyriCalm® and to the fact that the club gets 35%.
Forgetting follow-up. A friendly reminder after a week is often enough. Always thank anyone who bought — that builds next season.
For team leaders
Set a shared goal, share a shared pitch and celebrate milestones. Make it social without calling out whoever sold the least. More about the flow: How Roots works and How it works.
Make the information easy to find even after kick-off. A pinned post in the team's group with goal, time period and a link to help reduces unnecessary follow-up questions. It also gives new families a safe way in without anyone feeling late or singled out.
Build trust in every contact
The best selling often starts with listening. Ask whether the person already uses hair care they like, briefly explain the team's goal and leave the link without pressure. Then Roots becomes an offer the recipient can look at at their own pace, rather than a conversation that needs to end with a yes.
Also be careful about what you do not know. You do not need to answer questions about exact ingredients, delivery or current price off the cuff; point to the product pages and your shop. That creates a calm, professional experience for you, the customer and the club.
Frequently asked questions
- What do I say if someone asks about price?
- Point to the shop or product page — current price always shows there. You do not need to memorise figures.
- How often may I remind people?
- Prefer a few clear moments (kick-off, mid-campaign, final days) over daily reminders in the same chat.
- Can I sell to people outside the club?
- Yes. Your shop is open to anyone who gets the link — friends, family, colleagues and neighbours.
